I think it only means something when everybody follows it. 54% of the electorate going to the polls is not really representative of the will of the country. I like the Australian way of doing things----if you don't vote, you are penalized. That gets out the vote !
Naive? A little while ago there was a measure to change the way the vote and representation would look. People voted that path down. So we remain a people who's vote is nothing more than a cry in the wilderness.
Someday the person I vote for will be elected. Only then will I have a voice... and that at the expense of another.
